DOUG
GORDON -
Composer/Producer/Design Illustrator.
After
modest success in the '80's writing and performing with his own
band, Doug's parallel career as a designer, led him to write music
to pictures.
Commissions
followed, including the critically acclaimed 'Gaudi - An Act of
Kindness' by Patrick Egan. So integral was the music that
the producers acceptance of the Channel 4 commission was conditional
that Doug be retained as composer and, unusually, pictures were
cut to his music.
He
went on to both write the theme, and design the titles for 'Beyond
Belief' a chat show hosted by Dr Anthony Clare.
He was involved at the beginning of Acid House music and, in addition
to collaborating with Boy George and Steve Overbury, co-wrote and
produced, with Nicky Holloway and Pete Tong, the seminal No. 1 dance
chart hit 'Sure Beats Working', along with its follow-up
'Burn Out, Don't Fade Away' for London FFRR Records, which, frankly,
bombed.
He
has composed for both commercial and corporate clients, and has
been Musical Director for a small theatre group.
He has been a composer for twenty years, and so has a vast experience
of various musical styles from which to draw. He has studied
Music Composition and Synchronization for Film & Video at WAES,
and can score for live musicians as well as using his own recording
facilities to meet budgetary and deadline constraints.
Doug
has one daughter and lives with his cat near Bankside. |
